Paterson Park

2010 Winners

Chairman Alfie Smith

takes double 2 years in a row!

Alfie Smith took 1st place in the award for ‘Best Allotment’ for the third time in four years.  He also took the award for ‘Best Floral Display’ for the fourth year in a row, after dazzling the judges and public with an outstanding show of colour and variety.

When asked how it feels to win both trophies, Alfie replied... “I feel great to have won them both again, but I honestly don’t do it for the trophies, I do it for the love of doing it.”

John Carroll - Runner-Up

After becoming an allotment holder in 2009, John took over an allotment that had been left unworked for quite some time. To his credit he did a good job and won the 3rd Place award as well as ‘Best Newcomer’.

This year, John’s valiant effort paid off as he improved on his success of last years 3rd Place and took the award of ‘Runner-Up’.

Tam McMurray - 3rd Place

This years return to the podium for Tam was great for all to see as he took the award for 3rd place.

Previously, Tam has won many awards including the highest award ‘Best Allotment’. It’s safe to say that Tam is well respected and a real asset to Paterson Park Allotments.

Michael Pless - Best Newcomer

There’s not a great deal that can be said about Michael’s past within the association, as he joined as an allotment holder earlier this year.

What can be said, is that his dedication and hard work received the acknowledgement it deserved as Michael is our ‘Best Newcomer’ for 2010.

Well done Michael!
